Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Lolita

I finally got my hands on the very popular shade from Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick line in “Lolita.” After August 2015, a new formula was made and it has mixed reviews. I have been eyeing this liquid lipstick for a long time, and now that I have it I am not that impressed it. I do love this liquid lipstick, but it is not the best.

After using Ofra Cosmetics liquid lipstick, by KathleenLights Miami Fever, I cannot use my other liquid lipsticks the same! I purchased this one awhile ago when I saw it actually in stock at Sephora (not available online) and I immediately snatched it. This was the last one in stock, I thought I would never see this shade in stores!

IMG_6208Lolita is a brown mauve nude, I think this goes great with any skin tone! It is a deep plum/pink that can be manipulated to bring out the brown, purple, or pink hues in it by the lip liner you may use. It is very long lasting, but has some cons in the application process.

The formula is not drying, but when you apply it I brings out all the cracks in your lips. This liquid lipstick needs several coats. Which is my main disappointment out of it. The first application feels great and looks great, but once your upper and bottom lip touch it moves the product around. When wanting a perfect appearance I like to apply one…dry for 30 seconds…apply a second coat.. let dry…then see how it looks. Usually I will wear it for a while then apply a last third coat. The drying process is very inconvenient and so is the formula. IMG_6203

The formula feels silky smooth but on the lips, becomes patchy and wears off. The good thing is it does not get flakey. Since I do apply layers, it is good that you can wear this a thin coat or build it up. I do not regret this product, I just am not in love with it. Everyone talks about this particular shade so much, but the formula isn’t mentioned very often. Lolita is a gorgeous shade, how to work with it is the hard part.

  1. I love this lipstick. I have several from her line and have found not all of them are patchy, at least they weren’t for me. I don’t mind applying several coats for this one since its such a lovely shade. =)

  2. I bought both Lolita and Lolita 2. I was so excited that I managed to get both. However my excitement was short lived. I have a darker skin tone and Lolita 2 is too light for me. Lolita is pretty much the same color as my natural lip. I put it on and my daughter asked if I put any lipstick on. I wasn’t too crazy about the formula either. It was real sticky and you were right about not letting your top and bottom lip touch because it would move around. I hate to say it, it’s going back to Sephora. Which is sad because I really wanted to like these so much.
